Mom of 4, Nana to 2 grandkids and Dog lover! (ok coffee too) I have always loved to try new sports and activities. As a child I did everything from ringette to hockey, baseball, basketball, dance, baton and gymnastics.
As an adult I started back at physical activity later in life, but wanted to try “new things” So I started kickboxing and martial arts classes like Kempo and Moh pai defensive arts. Even dabbled in a few 5 and 10km races, including 2 mud races!
Then I moved to crossfit and did that for 4 years. I started to “feel my age” with having knee issues and some injuries, and still wanted to be able to have cardio and strength training without being hard on my joints. So after my knee surgery I started to row. LOVED it. I also really enjoyed kettlebells but didn’t really know what to do with them besides swing them.
So when I came across the kettlebell kickboxing naturally I was intrigued! There are so many things you can do with a kettlebell to increase strength and mobility, and by incorporating some martial arts moves, well that is just pretty awesome!
So I would have to say that my three favorite things are kettlebells, kickboxing and rowing! It is never too late to try anything in life at any age.
